Baycol Lawyer
There have been thousands of Baycol lawsuits in response to the
Baycol recall that has been described as a legal frenzy. A high
number of Baycol lawyers have been retained because of the deadly
adverse effects many Baycol patients suffered. When the Baycol
recall was announced in August 2001, there had been 52 reported
deaths, with 416 cases of the potentially fatally rare condition
rhabdomyolysis that patients sought Baycol lawyers for.
As more reports came in, it was discovered that over 100 deaths
had been linked to Baycol use and Baycol lawyers continued to
represent people alleging rhabdomyolysis had been or was being
suffered. In September, a federal court denied certification of
a class action, but Bayer still faces over 11,000 cases and Baycol
lawyers are still being contacted. The Baycol side effects were
so grave that a consumer group had been pushing for stricter labeling,
but the actions were too late according to many Baycol lawyers
and patients.
Consumer advocacy group Public Citizen had found that over a
year later patients were still unaware of the Baycol recall and
had been continuing to use the drug. The number of deadly effects
caused as result of this lack of information may result in even
more claims that Baycol lawyers will defend.
